Emile is of German-Jewish, English, and Scots-Irish descent. He has an older sister, Jennifer and together grew up in Los Angeles and Santa Fe, New Mexico, where they lived with their mother for several years.
For his education, Hirsch attended Paul Revere Charter Middle School in LA. He then proceeded to The Hamilton Academy of Music and The Performing Arts in Los Angeles.

Hirsch started acting in 1996 when he appeared on an episode of the brief Fox series “Kindred: The Embraced.” Subsequently, He featured in episodes of “3rd Rock from the Sun,” “Early Edition,” and “Players.”
After his initial appearances in the late 1990s into the 2000s, Hirsch starred in “The Girl Next Door” in 2004. In the same year, 2004, Hirsch featured celebrities like Jeff Daniels and Sigourney Weaver.

Hirsch dated a woman who on October 27, 2013, gave Hirsch his first boy child named Valor. The duo is no longer together. Hirsch was charged with aggravated assault on February 12, 2015, after attacking and attempting to strangle Paramount Pictures executive Daniele Bernfeld on January 25, 2015, at Tao Nightclub in Park City, Utah.
Hirsch claimed he did not remember what transpired since she was tipsy. However, he pleaded guilty on August 17, 2015, to misdemeanour assault and was sentenced to 15 days in jail, fined $4,750, received 90 days of probation, and was ordered to undergo 50 hours of community service. Hirsch was also asked to enter a rehab facility following the assault.
