Rich Paul became part of LeBron James’ clique along with Maverick Carter and Randy Mims in 2003, after the NBA draft. Paul started his career under the mentorship of Leon Rose, who had negotiated James’ extension with the Cavaliers in 2006, at Creative Artists Agency (CAA). However, their business relationship ended in 2012, when Paul, along with James, left Rose and CAA to start their own agency – Klutch Sports Group.
In 2013, Paul enlisted the prominent agent and attorney Mark Termini to handle NBA contract negotiations for Klutch. By the expiration of their contract in 2020, Termini had negotiated $1.4 billion in NBA contracts for Klutch Sports clients from 2014 through 2019.
