Early Life
Chuck Kirkendall popularly known as Kali Muscle was born on 18th February 1975 in Oakland, California, United States. Alongside his siblings, He was raised by his mother and stepfather in a neighbourhood that was poor and filled with criminals.
He developed a love for the gym and had his first job in a gym called ‘24 hour Nautilus’ (Now ’24 hour Fitness) as a teenager
Kali’s life looked like it was getting on track as he shone in other sports such as wrestling and football. He was offered a football scholarship to Fresno State University.
In senior year, Kali was faced with a series of tragedies; his older brother was killed and he ran into financial difficulties that made him resort to robbing to stay afloat. However, he was arrested and sent to San Quentin State Prison to do time for 11 years.
In Prison, Kali Muscle found comfort in bodybuilding, even when the weights were taken away to deter him, he devised other means to continue his passionate workout sessions.
In 2010 after he left prison, Kali Muscle decided to chase his dream of becoming a professional bodybuilder and an actor in Los Angeles. Two weeks later, he was offered a ‘working out’ role in a music video and he has not looked back since.
