Adam Silver is an American lawyer and sports executive with an estimated net worth of $40 million. Silver is the fifth and current commissioner of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Adam has held various positions within the league ever since joining the NBA in 1992.

Early Life
Adam Silver was born on April 25, 1962, in Rye, New York, United States of America. His father, Edward Silver was a lawyer who specialized in labour law and was a senior partner at the law firm Proskauer Rose. He was raised in a Jewish family.
For his education Silver attended Rye High School graduating in 1980. Following his graduation, he proceeded to Duke University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1984. While in college, he was a member of the Phu Delta Theta fraternity.
In 1988, Silver obtained a J.D. degree from the University of Chicago Law School.
Career
After his first degree in Political science, Silver worked from 1984 to 1985 as a legislative aide to Les AuCoin. After Law School, Silver spent one year as a law clerk for Judge Kimba Wood, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Shortly afterwards, he joined the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore as an associate.
Before he became a commissioner, Silver was the NBA’s deputy commissioner and chief operating officer for about eight years. As deputy commissioner, he successfully carried out negotiations and bargaining agreements with the National Basketball Players Association, the development of the WNBA and NBA Development League, the partnership with Turner Broadcasting to manage the NBA’s digital assets, and the creation of NBA China.
While at NBA Entertainment, Silver was an executive producer of the IMAX movie “Michael Jordan to the Max,” as well as the documentary “Whatever Happened to Micheal Ray?” as well as on other projects.
