Early Life
David Canterbury was born on September 19, 1963, in Florida, USA. Before his parents got divorced, his father who loved adventures used to take him gliding, diving, and other adventurous escapades. This established his love for nature and adventures. After his parents’ divorce, his mother remarried a woodsman who loved hunting and fishing. Dave began to learn how to cope in extreme situations and living in a woodland environment.
After high school, he joined the US army in 1981, where he learned discipline, work ethic, and hardships management which became useful in his career. He served in the military for 6 years and retired in 1987.
Dave worked briefly as an animal control officer and a net diver in Florida before moving to Indiana to study primitive skills.
He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Wilderness Ministry from Frontier Christian University. He also obtained certification for Wilderness First Aid/CPR and Advanced search and rescue.
