Altman graduated from Newton South High School in 1997. Following his graduation, Altman enrolled at Syracuse University, where he obtained a degree in Speech Communications in 2001.

After graduating from college, Altman relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in real estate. He began his real estate agency career as an investor and flipper. Thereafter, he started a real estate finance company for three years before teaming up with his brother, Matt Altman to form The Altman Brothers.
