After one season with UCLA, Looney decided to forgo his remaining college eligibility to declare for the 201 NBA draft. Looney was chosen 30th overall in the final pick of the first round by the Golde State Warriors. On July 8, 2015, Looney signed his rookie scale counteract with the Warriors.
