Nicholas Aaron Young was born June 1, 1985, in Los Angeles, California, United States of America. His father is Charles Young and his mother is Reseda Young. Nicholas grew up with an elder brother, Charles Young Jr., and his younger brother, John Young. However, he lost his elder brother to gang violence.
For his education, Nick Young attended Cleveland High School in Reseda. Young was active in the basketball team while studying at high school. He averaged 27.2 points and 10.8 rebounds as a 2004 senior at Cleveland, earning 2004 CIF L.A. City Section, Los Angeles Times All-City and San Fernando Valley first-team honours.
Young then enrolled at the University of Southern California where he played college basketball from 2004 to 2007. He would eventually forgo his senior year to turn professional and enter the 2007 NBA Draft, where he was eventually selected with the 16th overall pick by the Washington Wizards.
Career
Young was drafted into Washington Wizards in 2007 and played there till 2012. So it is safe to say he started his first NBA game on December 15, 2007, and it was against the Sacramento Kings.
When Young was done at Washington Wizards, Young joined Los Angeles Clippers in 2012. The aim was to help the Clippers and he helped the Clippers win their first playoff berth in 6 years with a 19-point performance against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Then Young signed with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2012. The contract was to last for a year so by 2013 it was over and Young moved over to Los Angeles Lakers for a period of four years between 2013 to 2017.
By June 21, 2017, the Lakers announced that Young chose not to extend his contract for the 2017–2018 season, making him a free agent. On July 7, 2017, Young signed with the Golden State Warriors. Young helped the Warriors reach the 2018 NBA Finals, where they defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in a four-game sweep, with Young winning his first NBA championship.
In December 2018, Young joined the Denver Nuggets. However, he was waived by the Nuggets, after four appearances.
