Symone D. Sanders was born on December 10, 1989, in North Omaha, Nebraska, United States of America. Her father, Daniel Sanders is a retired US Army Corps Engineer and her mother, Terri Sanders is the former publisher of the Omaha Star and former director for the Great Plains Black History Museum.
Education
Symone Sanders attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. However, she graduated from Mercy High School in Omaha, Nebraska. Sanders proceeded to obtain a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Creighton University. While in college, Sanders interned at a law firm.
Career
Symone Sanders landed her first job at Time Out Foods in Omaha, a Blac-owned restaurant. She left the job when she started college.
Sanders also worked in the communications department of former Omaha Mayor Kim Suttle. In 2014 she was deputy communications director for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Chuck Hassebrook.
In August 2015, Sanders joined the Bernie Sanders 2016 presidential campaign as the national press secretary. Sanders left her position in the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign to join CNN as an analyst and commentator.
