Robert Oberst was born on December 20, 1984, in Santa Cruz, California, United States of America. He is the son of Kathy and Jim Oberst. Robert is the eighth of the children of his parents, and they all grew up in Santa Cruz.
For his education, Oberst attended Aptos High School in Aptos, California. While in high school, he played football and track and field events. In 2008, he graduated from Western Oregon University where he majored in history.
Career
Following his graduation from college, Orbest tried to join the NFL but did not make the cut. He then began to work as a bouncer in a dance club. There, one of his colleagues acquainted him with the world strong man competition and piqued his interest. He began to exercise vigorously before enrolling.
He was ninth in the 2013 World’s Strongest Man Competition, qualified for 2014 World’s Strongest Man, and also 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2020 World’s Strongest Man.
He was the eighth position in the 2014 Arnold Strongman Classic, third in 2012 America’s Strongest Man, and second twice in 2013 and 2014 America’s strongest man respectively.
