Chris is the oldest son of his eight siblings. Although he had an older paternal half-brother Charles Ledell Rock, who died in 2006 after a long struggle with alcoholism. Rock is of Cameroonian descent, specifically from the Udeme (Ouldémé) people of northern Cameroon.
Rock was often bullied at high school which led to his parents withdrawing him out of James Madison High School. Eventually, he dropped out of high school but later earned a GED. Rock then proceeded to work menial jobs at various fast-food restaurants.
