Elijah Blue Allman was born on July 10, 1976, in Beverly Hills, California, United States of America. He is the son of singer Cher and her second husband, Gregg Allman. Elijah is the half-brother of Chaz Bono, Delilah Allman, Michael Allman, Layla Allman, and Devon Allman.
He is of German, English, Armenian, and Irish ancestry from his mother’s side. His parents divorced in 1979 and his father passed away in May 2017 after a long battle with liver cancer. Allman was exposed to the world of music at a tender age due to his parents’ professions.
For his education, Elijah attended the Hyde School in Bath, Maine, graduating in 1994. By age 11 he was already into drugs. This newfound lifestyle caused him so much pain often landing him in rehab.

Elijah was 13 when he was given his first guitar by Kiss bassist Gene Simmons. He then went on tour as a guitarist with his mother, Cher. Subsequently, he appeared as a guitarist in the music video of her song “If I Could Turn Back Time”.
In 1994, Elijah auctioned for the spot of guitarist for Nine Ince Nails, however, he wasn’t successful. In 1995, he adopted the stage name Phillips Exeter Blue and became the singer and guitarist for the rock band Deadsy. The band prior to its disbandment had drummer Alec Püre, synthesizer Dr Nner, Z-Tar player Carlton Megalodon, and bass player Jens Funke.
The band group released three albums so far: Deadsy (1996), Commencement (2002), and Phantasmagore (2006). Following the dissolution of the band group in 2007, Blue Allman launched a solo career. He titled his solo project “Elijah Blue and the Trapezoids” and released three demos on his MySpace page in 2008.
He has collaborated with other rock bands including Coal Chamber, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Sugar Ray, and Korn. In 2014, Allman hinted at the return of Deadsy. On July 14, 2020, the band announced its comeback on social media.
