Noah Syndergaard was born on August 29, 1992, in Mansfield, Texas, USA. He is the son of Heidi and Brad Syndergaard. Noah is of Danish ancestry.
As a child, he was encouraged to pursue baseball by his father, whom he describes as the best coach he has ever had and his mother. He hit his first over-the-fence home run when he was seven years, and he grew up watching the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB).
For his education, Noah attended Mansfield Legacy High School in Mansfield, Texas, and there, he played basketball and baseball. He proceeded to Dallas Baptist University, where he equally played college baseball.
Career
Noah Syndergaard began his professional baseball career when he was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 38th overall selection of the 2010 MLB Draft. He signed with the Blue Jays and received a $600k signing bonus to forgo his commitment to Dallas Baptist.
In 2011, he pitched for three teams; the Bluefield Blue Jays of the Rookie-level Appalachian League, the Vancouver Canadians of the Class A short season Northwest League, and the Lancing Lugnuts of the Class A Midwest League.
Noah pitched for Lancing in 2012 and appeared in the Midwest League All-star game, and was thereafter traded to the New York Mets in December 2012. He started the 2013 season with the St. Lucie Mets to the Class A-Advanced Florida State League (FSL) and was named FSL All-Star.
