Trevor Andrew Bauer was born on January 17, 1991, in North Hollywood, California, United States of America. His father’s name is Warren Bauer and his mother’s name is Kathy Bauer. Right from childhood, Bauer has always had an obsession with baseball pitching which prompted his parents to high a private coach for him.
Education
Trevor Baur attended William S. Hart High School in Santa Clarita where he continued to practice his techniques. Thereafter, he enrolled to study mechanical engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Career
Bauer had graduated a year earlier from high school to attend the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he studied mechanical engineering. Bauer joined their baseball team, the UCLA Bruins. By the end of the 2009 freshman season, Bauer led the team with nine wins, a 2.99 ERA and 105+1⁄3 innings pitched which earned him the Pac-10 Conference Baseball Newcomer of the Year.
UCLA continued to dominate in the postseason, with Bauer taking the win in a 10–3 rout of Texas Christian to lead UCLA to its first-ever College World Series Championship Series. By the end of the 2011 season, he led the school with 460 strikeouts, 34 wins, and 373+1⁄3 innings pitched. On a personal level, Bauer received the National Pitcher of the Year Award, awarded by the College Baseball Foundation, and was the first UCLA player to receive the Golden Spikes Award, given annually to the top amateur baseball player in the United States.
Bauer was selected to play for the Arizona Diamondbacks in the MLB drafts so he signed with the team on July 25 and he played with them till the end of the 2012 season. He then joined Cleveland Indians till the end of the 2018 season.
It was on July 31, 2019, that he signed off to Cincinnati Reds in a three-team trade with the Indians and the San Diego Padres. Because of his back spasm and injury, Bauer struggled in his team debut, lasting only 4+2⁄3 innings. After resumption from the indefinite suspension of the season for a part of 2020, Bauer rejected the Reds’ $18.9 million qualifying offer on November 4, 2020, making him a free agent.
Bauer turned down deals from the New York Mets to accept the Los Angeles Dodgers on February 5, 2021. After Bauer joined the Dodgers, he was accused of sexually assaulting some ladies and then place on administrative leave by July 2, 2021. His administrative leave extends till April 16, 2022.
