Sean Patrick Hannity was born on December 30, 1961, in New York City, New York, United States of America. His father, Hugh Hannity was a World War II and family court officer and his mother, Lillian Hannity worked as a stenographer and a corrections officer at a country jail.
Hannity is of Irish descent and he is the youngest of four siblings.
Education
Sean Hannity attended Sacred Heart Seminary in Hempstead, New York. He also attended St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary in Uniondale, New York. After his graduation from high school, Hannity attended New York University and Adelphi University but did not graduate from either.
Career
Sean Hannity started his career as a house painter and a few years later, worked as a building contractor in Santa Barbara, California. In 1989, he hosted his first talk radio show at the volunteer college station at UC Santa Barbara, KCSB-FM. However, the show was cancelled less than a year after a controversy.
Following his departure from KCSB, he was hired by a radio station WVNN in Athens, Alabama to be the afternoon talk show host. In 1992, he moved to WGST in Atlanta.
In September 1996, Hannity was hired by Fox News co-founder Roger Ailes to host a television program under the title Hannity and LTBD. Thereafter, Alan Colmes was hired to co-host and the show debuted as Hannity & Colmes.
