Anthony Jay Robbins was born on February 29, 1960, in North Hollywood, California, United States of America. He was born to his father, John Mohorovic who was a parking garage attendant and his mother, Nikki Mohorovic. At age 7, his parents divorced, and his mother got married to Jim Robbins who legally adopted Anthony.
Robbins is the eldest of three children including Marcus Mohorovic and Tara Mohorovic.
For his education, Robbins attended Glendora High School. He had an abusive and chaotic home life, as such he left home when he was 17 and never returned. He later got a job as a janitor and did not attend college.
Career
Tony Robbins started his career promoting seminars for motivational speaker and author Jim Rohn. In early 1980, he met with neurolinguistic programming (NLP) co-founder John Grinder and they became business partners. Together, they taught neurolinguistic programming and Ericksonian hypnosis.
In 1997, he launched the Leadership Academy seminar. Robbins with Cloé Madanes co-founded the Robibins-Madanes Center for Intervention, an organization that trains life skills coaches to help families and individuals deal with addiction and other issues.
