Maria Owings Shriver was born on November 6, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois. Her father, Sargent Shriver was a politician and her mother, Eunice Kennedy, an activist. Maria is the niece of the late US President John F. Kennedy, US Attorney General and US Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and US Senator Ted Kennedy.
