James Michael Hill was born on August 19, 1970, in The Bronx, New York, United States of America. His father is James Maxwell and his mother is Linda Edwards. Hill is of British, Scottish, and German descent. He has a brother named, J.R. Hill and together they grew up in Bessemer, Alabama.
For his education, Hill attended Jess Lanier High School in Alabama. After graduation from high school, he was enlisted as a reservist in the U.S. Air Force.
Career
Mike Hill started his career as a sports director at WHAG-TV in Hagerstown, Maryland in 1995. Thereafter, he got his first anchoring job with KSEE-TV in Fresno, California. Between 1997 and 2000, Hill worked with WKRN-TV where he covered high school football and earned two Emmy Awards in the process.
In 2000, he joined as a host at Fox Sports Net. Two years later, he joined ESPN where he served as a sports anchor at KXAS-TV. Hill hosted a lot of shows with ESPN including SportsCenter, ESPN First Take, NFL Live, Baseball Tonight amongst others.
In 2013, Hill Joined Fox Sports 1 (FS1) where he guest-hosted Fox Sports Live and Fox Football Daily. A year later, he began hosting America’s Pregame until its cancellation in September 2015. Hill began hosting BIG3 games on FS1 in April 2018.
In March 2021, joined as the cohost of the morning show Start Your Day With Sharon and Mike with Sharon Reed on the BNC Network.
