Education
Jack Morris graduated from Highland Park High School in 1973 and went ahead to attend Brigham Young University, where he was a member of the BYU Cougars baseball team.
Career
Jack Morris was drafted in the fifth round of the 1976 MLB draft by the Detroit Tigers. On July 26, 1977, he made his Major League Baseball debut with the Detroit Tigers. With the Tigers, he won the World Series in 1984, the same year he was also awarded the Babe Ruth Award.
Jack then spent the next season with the Minnesota Twins, where he won his second World Series in 1991. After that, he joined the Toronto Blue Jays, where he won two World Series championships in a row in 1992 and 1993.
In 1994, Morris signed with the Cleveland Indians but was released in August. After that, he joined the Cincinnati Reds. In 1995, he left the Major League Baseball.
In 1996, he returned to professional baseball for a little time. He was a member of the Independent Northern League’s St. Paul Saints, his hometown team. Jack Morris went on to work as a colour analyst for the Minnesota Twins after retiring. He also worked as a part-time coach for the Detroit Tigers for a short time.
In 2013, he joined Sportsnet as a colour analyst for the Toronto Blue Jays. In 2014, he worked as a pre-and post-game analyst for Bally Sports North’s Twins telecasts, as well as a part-time substitute for regular game analyst Bert Blyleven.
