Early Life
Stevie Williams was born on December 17 1979 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. His mother, Susan Williams is a well-known philanthropist and his father Steve Lassiter is theco-founder of the Educate to Skate Foundation.
He was brought up in Philadelphia. Though there is not enough information on his educational background, it is established that he started skateboarding at the age of eleven.
Career
Stevie Williams began his professional career at the age of 12. Together with friends, Stevie met with a skater, Jeff Pang, who was with the Element Brand at the time. Subsequently, He filmed a video for the Element video Fine Artist vol 1 in 1994, where he was named ‘Lil Stevie’.
He appeared in the 1999 Zoo York promotion video Heads, after which he joined DC Shoes and Chocolate Skateboards teams. He appeared in the 1999 Chocolate Tour Video, and in 2000, he released the model signature shoe with DC.
In 2003, Stevie Williams started his own company, after appearing in The DC Video. Together with his business partner Eli Scotto, they formed a distribution company called Kayo Corp. The first promotional video of the company was released in 2006, where the company introduced brands like Gold, Expedition, DGK, and Organika.
He had a shoe sponsor with Reebok, and after it ended, he released his first signature shoe in 2012 called “S1W.”
Stevie Williams is the founder and co-owner of the Dirty Ghetto Kids (DGK), which is an American Skateboard company that is distributed by Kayo Corp.
He worked with Reebok to design a product line named “RBK-DGK” and its products, including a complete clothing line and skate shoes.
